Dalton - Mr & Mrs Smith House Renovations - Extensions - Indoor Pool - New Roof - Boiler Room - Physio Room -& Landscaping To help Aiden Smith live a more comfortable life . I built all this single handedly, quite an acheivement but it did take me 12 months to complete. |
First job was to whip the roof off |
Ready to make the bedrooms the same height to aid wheel chair access |
At least it was summer! |
This area was about to be excavated |
Installing the new drainage system |
Walls up & vellux windows going in |
Superb match |
I hand cut every piece of stone you can see! |
Very neat indeed & exterior tanking below ground using a bithutherm membrane |
The longest wall i've ever rendered |
Got it spot on though! |
I even put these two massive beams in on my own using scaffolding & jacks |
Getting the fall right in the physo room |
Screeding done |
View over the pool area with roof acess |
Before Pic |
Due to humidity I opted for a wet plaster for the tile backing |
Getting the foundations ready |
Lots of drains to sort out |
Still did my best on the back where you can't even see it! |
Matching boiler room in random sandstone & vented hardwood door |
My digger, starting the pool foundations |
Looking good |
Shoring up the soon to be access tunnel for the services |
Giving it a good whacker |
Got help to sweep up late one evening! |
Re-bar in & passed by building inspector |
Two layers of mesh & lots of concrete |
Starting the pool walls |
Up & over the re-bar |
Suspended block & beam floor |
Starting the tanking process |
I decided to make bigger steps to help the physiotherapist get in & out with Aiden |
Still plastering & electrics going in |
waterproof rendering |
Tanked & ready for the pool tilers |
Before the garage |
Bricking up the old doorway |
Put a matching window in |
Ready to get rid of all the old concrete |
Reduced the height of the driveway |
Well at least the concrete was an easy pour! |
That deep enough for you? |
Slab ready for the next pour |
The customer! |
Trench block ready |
Internal garage walls going up |
Easy does it |
Matching stone |
I put a stone bob the builder gargoyle over Aidens bedroom to look over him! |
Looking nice & neat |
Aiden & his dad |

Nearly done, It was a very hard job for one person this, there should have been three of us on it but I was left to do it on my own after just one week into the build. |
I used a farm, my digger and a cheap truck to remove a few hundred tons of earth from the drive to level it out so that Aidens wheel chair would'nt tip over |
|
A big thank you to Wendy Smith |
